Through this project, the student was able to gain a better perspective and understanding of the functioning of the design house and its processes, along with a close work relation with in-house carpenters, upholsterers, and managers. The furniture range developed as a part of this project draws inspiration from soft accentuating forms and details so as to add a warm, welcoming, and highlighting feature to residential interiors, translating them into aesthetically appealing spaces. The intent of this project was to understand and express the correlation of aesthetics and emotions in order to achieve an absolute balance between form and function. Furthermore, keen attention was paid to details such as materials, colours, textures, and finishes. These design elements have a direct relation to aesthetic perception and emotions thereby leading to its practical applications in a real life industry. This final range of accent furniture is a result of meticulous learning and understanding of the entire process of furniture making at a design and manufacturing house.
