The main aim of the project is to design a surface for the European market in the HORECA sector. Ariane is a European brand that produces superior quality porcelain tableware that live up to world-class international standards. Ariane produces a mesmerizing collection of gloss and matte colours, which looks exceptional with a unique blend of glaze effects. It has designed various series of tableware in ivory, white and other different colours. Ariane offers a flexible approach to customized decorations and product lines with personalized décor shapes, patterns, decal variations and custom made logos to its customers. As various series are designed, a variety of forms are explored in glazes of different colours. The objective is to develop a unique surface for existing sets of tableware.
The company gets most of the profit and bulk orders from a few of the existing series. Prime and Coupe are two of the many series of tableware which are always being produced at the factory due to high demand in the market. Understanding the form language, the trend in the HORECA sector, design trends in terms of form, colour and surface, target customers, production method, etc are part of the design process. Study of the visual language of the brand as well as trends in the European market is a very important part to avoid repetition of designs and concepts. It involves study of the whole system of the HORECA sector (in terms of tableware) from production to end use of the product. The fine differences and details are therefore crucial in order to be able to offer suitable solutions for every new guest and customer.
