As one of the very few profitable pure-play internet companies in the country, Info Edge is India’s premier online classifieds company in recruitment, matrimony, real estate, education, and related services. Naukri.com is Infoedge’s flagship product. Naukri.com has been seeking to tackle multiple arrays of challenges. Chief among these challenges is that it has been trying to limit the job seekers and recruiters whose actions injure its system's health. The objective of this project is to do user experience research and leverage learnings from the field of behavioral design to uncover insights that would help aid good behaviors on the part of genuine users while slowing down/ introducing friction for unhealthy behavior such as resume harvesting, spam applying, etc. Solving this multi-faceted challenge would help increase the trust of Naukri.com users in the platform and thus improve the overall health of the system. Insights uncovered will help genuine users retain choice, flexibility and trust in their time spent on the platform while ways have been conceptualized in which detrimental behavior can be slowed down. These design interventions will accomplish these goals without disrupting the existing mental models of the users or using design patterns that demand new behavior formation.
