This film creates awareness about the pandemic-stricken apparel businesses (inclusive of tailors, thrift stores, recycling labels, and upcycling labels). Revolving around the uneasy feeling of the happenings at the ‘katran ki dukaan’, where people are leaving, handing down the keys to the last person who is about to leave. It is a reflection on the lockdown and its effects on small-scale businesses that led to a majority of the people leaving their cities of employment and returning to their native places due to the unavailability of living wages. The reality of millions of people walking across the country to reach their homes amidst the pandemic and millions of others getting pay cuts was what inspired the student to make this film. Vulnerability is the crux of this film. Having a background in the apparel industry and having worked closely with artisans made the student empathise with the workers.
