Augmented Reality Smart Glasses are an upcoming category of wearable consumer devices with the potential to replace/supplement Smartphone use and revolutionize the way we interact with technology.
With current applications in numerous domains and future potential to become ubiquitous, the design and implementation of Multimodal Interactions (MMI) are critical for the use and success of this category of products.

Based on ongoing research and development in Samsung Research Institute-Bangalore, for upcoming AR Smart Glasses, this project examines the application of Multimodal Interactions for the product.

With the aim to bridge the gap between the currently existing research and future possibilities and potential of AR Glasses, this project is a deep dive into the available literature and research on the topics of Augmented Reality, Wearables design, and Multimodal Interactions. A market study and user research also form a part of this project.

The study resulted in collating of guidelines and synthesis of a framework to help a designer make informed choices when designing MMI for the product. The application of this framework is illustrated through an everyday use case of texting in different scenarios.
