The student's graduation project is with Grasper Global Pvt. Ltd. -Skillmatics, working on their Buildables product line. The company was founded in Mumbai in 2016. Now, they sell toys and games in offline stores and online portals worldwide. Buildables is a newly launched vertically with DIY wooden toys. The toys are based on fundamental scientific principles that children learn tacitly. The graduation project is to design a DIY wearable STEM toy based on hydraulics. The product involves a mechanism to shoot soft foam bullets with a Scissors mechanism operated by syringes. The product is strapped on the wrist and operated by a handheld syringe.
The student's project includes research, market study, iterative design and prototyping, form and detailing, branding, and testing. It spanned over five months. It took nearly 10 versions of the mechanism to get it right. The multiple rounds of iterations and testing helped the student to fine-tune the product details. The product is now on sale worldwide.
