Void is a term for the absence or lack of emotional responses. As emotions are felt, this also creates hollowness in a person. It creates delusions as everything happening around them is wrong and creates confusion about normality. It feels empty, but at the same time, the person is burdened inside. The term void also means emptiness and nothingness. Being in a state of the void is entirely different from feeling it. This phase started when Divya Ekka lost her mother recently, in October 2020, to Covid-19. Divya was unable to cope with the sudden passing away. As her mother was very close to her, she was devastated and could not think of continuing with her life. As she regained her composure, Divya started feeling this weird void. People generally don’t openly discuss their general emotions or loss of emotion. There has always been a reluctance among these people to come up with these feelings in society, so they create their world to comfort themselves. When she started experiencing the same thing, people around her were unable to relate; they concluded by saying that she was overthinking or the recent incidents significantly hurt her. They started suggesting socialising so she would be out of the trauma, but that wasn’t what Divya was experiencing. At first, curiosity arose about what a void is; she couldn’t understand whether she was feeling a void or was in the void. Through this project, the student underwent the path of healing to get composure and stability in life.
