Illustrating Out of Copyright Classics and Animating a Promotional Video for the Collection
StoryWeaver is a digital repository of multilingual stories for children from Pratham Books. Their mission is for all children to have access to an endless stream of stories in their mother tongue. The platform partners with creators, translators, and other organisations to bring as many languages and stories together. Currently, the platform hosts stories in more than 200 languages. They now plan to bring the Out of Copyright Indian classic literature to young children. The student adapted classics written by Munshi Premchand, a stalwart of Hindi literature. His stories talk about the bonds between people or animals in various settings mostly set in pre-Independence India. Through this project, the student aimed at making the books more interesting in a unique way, thus inspiring young children to explore different kinds of illustrations and styles. The project also taught the student how to deal with clients, how to experiment and explore, the nuances of effective communication, and time management.
