LA is a brand of Echostream and its ideology aligned with that of the student, enabling her to be a part of this human-centric design project. The project was planned and conducted with a firm understanding of the design process learnt at NID and it was further refined by the multidisciplinary approach of the team at LA. After intense research, analysis and ideation, the final project brief was redefined to design a collection that would facilitate ease of mobility for pregnant women residing in the mountains. The final deliverable of the project includes five overgarments that are developed focuses on embracing pregnancy; giving women the confidence to experience a transition to motherhood; and being a constant support system throughout to carry a healthy growing life within the womb with unpredictable weather conditions in the mountainous regions. This collection spread the message of self-love and self-care among mothers-to-be residing in the mountainous terrains through various functional as well as stylistic attributes.
