MPL co-founders approached Codesign for a rebranding exercise. They felt a lack of good visual communication strategy and a clear identity that would do justice to what they were offering as a brand. The project commenced by understanding the brand, its stakeholders, the product and its true USP, and the people who'd engage with the brand. There was a conscious decision to not follow the trends blindly. The idea was to carve an ownable design system out of the iterations that would appeal to the target audience. The outcome was a complete brand identity system comprising a logo, colour, typography, brand elements, sub-brand identity system, additional assets, etc. This project helped the student understand the detailed process of brand identity design. The design process was deeply immersed in context and semiotics—instilling every atom of the design solution with intent and meaning.
