The film is based on the ritual called Vachukodukkal (feeding ancestors). The ritual happens annually on a new moon day when everybody from the family gathers to celebrate the memories of the departed members. It is commemorated in rural Palakkad, Kerala, among specific communities which have similar social structures. This ritual shown in the film occurs within the Vaduga community. The student tried to observe and document the journey of the share that was kept aside -from the rooftop and onto the plates for the ancestors. The student chose a diaristic approach to move forward and shoot the film. Video documentation and editing of the film were done in parallel to discover the opportunities of the story.
