The process of game development and visual design in an independent game studio is multidisciplinary in nature. During the internship, the student undertook the role of an illustrator, animator, and UI designer and learnt new methods to apply in the existing design processes of character design, animation, UI design, and asset creation. The student came up with multiple game assets, which were implemented in the final product. Concept art is a process of arriving at a final game ready output through several iterations and multiple solutions before settling on the final design. It is used to develop work and show the progress of the projects to directors, clients and investors. Once the development of the work is complete, concept art may be reworked and used for advertising materials. As a gamer and an artist, the student believes that the visuals and overall UI/Input design complement the gameplay and mechanics and lend a distinct visual and sensory appeal to the overall game. Keeping that in mind, the student attempted to build all the assets and relevant visual features in a uniform and consistent art style specified by the sponsor. This project aimed to present a multidisciplinary workflow undertaken in an independent game studio with successful results in multiple fields of visual development.
