This film is about the relationship between a father and son, who are both going through grief and emotional upheaval following the untimely demise of the former’s spouse and mother of the latter. The film tells the story of two characters who are unable to open up and share their grief with each other. The characters are both men and the absence of a female figure makes it even more difficult to bridge this gap; they realise that their emotional connection is now lost. The film is autobiographical. It taught the student how to craft anecdotes into a story. Since it is based on a specific region, a lot of visual research was needed to build the environment. The student was living in the Himalayas while making the film and he used photographs from his trips and some references from Google. Designing the colour palette of the film was an important part as it had to reflect the entire mood of the story. For the student, it was indeed a challenge to work during the COVID-19 pandemic scenario as all feedback sessions and collaborations were scheduled online. All in all, the project taught the student how to be flexible and how to use available resources more efficiently.
