This project aimed to make a style guide to address the problem of excessive choice and lack of appropriate selection aid in the wallpaper industry. The retailers are not equipped to guide their customers, and the customers don't know how to gauge the quality of the wallpaper. The research included direct interviews with retailers, customers, a digital survey, and a competitor study. It helped validate the outlined problems and gain insights about customers. The project commenced as a publication design project, scope extended to develop a selection method that would guide the content structure. The student discovered that no textual content was available, and the existing images didn't provide distinction. New images were created with original imagery which was more empathetic towards its audience. Due to a lack of resources to implement the photoshoot and content, it was carried forward as a self-sponsored project. The final deliverable was a selection tool in the form of a print publication for guidance on residential requirements.
