The student worked on the project at Juniper Fashion, an in-house women’s ethnic wear brand of Aman Exports International, Jaipur. During this period, two womenswear collections were designed for Spring/ Summer 2020. This project helped the student understand how the textile and apparel industry works. It allowed the student to understand and learn about various textiles, their manufacturing, the different processes involved, different dyes and finishes, surface techniques and prints. The first collection was a range of fifteen to twenty ethnic ensembles for women for Spring/Summer 2020 with Sanganeri hand-block printed cotton fabric, keeping in mind the price range, clientele and the brand’s language. The second was a range of five ethnic ensembles for women for Spring/Summer 2020 and summer festive range using premium fabrics like Chanderi, and silk blends etc. The theme and mood board were finalized. Exploration for silhouettes, prints, and surface embellishments was done for the final designs of the collections. Once the designs were finalized, specification sheets were made and processed further for sampling. The final garments of these collections were presented to the buyers from different online and offline fashion portals. The client selects the pieces as per their requirements, and later the selected pieces are produced in bulk, on order.
