The project was to design, prototype and start bulk production of the motion capture suits named 'Holosuit'. As it was a niche product with great functionality, a lot of research went into the design of the suit, finding solutions to the problems and then looking for its manufacturers in India and abroad. The design requirements were divided into different questions according to the Lamb and Kallal model. Motion capture suit (Mo-cap suit for short) is a wearable device that records body motion. There are different sensors and haptic feedback placed inside the suit to record the movement of the human body on different axes. The typical application of the suit ranged from animation and filmmaking to playing virtual games. The project went through different phases of surveys, market research, competitor analysis and then the final product was designed and developed with the help of manufacturers of Tirupur and Jalandhar. The project helped the student to get experience in various domains of the apparel industry like vendor development, ordering and supply chain management. The product was launched and showcased in the defence expo, where a humanoid robot was controlled to shake hands with the Prime Minister of India.
