Inclusive Hiring: Making Opportunities Universally Accessible
Studies have shown that the problem of bias is rampant in the hiring process. Conscious and unconscious bias puts candidates who belong to certain groups or those who do not belong to colleges of high pedigree at a disadvantage. The advent of the Internet has lead to the flourishing of online learning platforms as an alternative means of learning. While unstructured, it enables people across the globe to learn new skills and exchange knowledge, unlocking new possibilities. Due to the lack of a defined structure and norms of testing, there is no artefact that acts as proof of the claimed proficiency (such as a college degree). Thus, there is a growing need for tools and methods for testing one’s claim of the abilities for the job that one is applying for. Brilliant Hire is a tool for just that. The core belief of inclusivity is what sets it apart. The mission is to make recruitment free of conscious and unconscious bias for the candidate and at the same time incredibly efficient for the recruiter.
