This project was sponsored by Vardhman Textiles, one of the front runners in the segment of textile mills in India. This project began with gaining an understanding about the sponsor, how the industry worked, the production process, and the role of designer in the whole system. Understanding the market and the brand and also predicting the future needs of the segment—all of this is a crucial part of the design process and was a good learning experience. Understanding the brand and the type of orders that it takes from the sponsor, getting to know the overall aesthetic of each segment, studying the upcoming trends, and designing the collections was a process that was both elaborate and insightful.
