This project studies various models of search that have been documented in the past by experts in the field. It goes on to explore the processes of information seeking and sense-making as they are performed in the enterprise by trained individuals, to determine the journey that these individuals go through as they access, aggregate, and assimilate new knowledge into their existing understanding. Accordingly, various user journeys have been mapped to understand the different requirements that users currently have and also predict needs that might arise in the future with changes and updates being made to the larger experience on the data platform. Following the Lean UX methodology, the process of completing this project was broken down into different sprints to design different components of the experience, starting with the most basic requirements and expanding to include the more advanced features. Various iterations for the project were designed to finally arrive at a robust and dynamic global search experience for Cohesity’s users.
