Functional Wear For Adults with Generalized Anxiety Disorder
Anxiety disorder is one of the most common mental health issues faced by individuals in India. Moreover, the second wave of COVID-19 has exacerbated the mental health crisis. The prevalence of anxiety disorder is greater, and there is a scarcity of quality healthcare services that are affordable and accessible. Trained specialists are overburdened with more patients. Therefore, non-pharmacological mental disorders management techniques should intervene here. In India, there is a glaring lack of research on indigenous non-pharmacological mental disorders management techniques. Thus, this project was a step towards mending this gap. This project has presented an essential base in establishing the link between clothing as a non-pharmacological intervention for anxiety management. The project work includes research, design, and evaluation of a functional wear clothing prototype for patients with Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD).
