This project was a pitch to the government for the restoration of Jaipal Singh Munda’s house and convert it into a Museum. This museum has to showcase how his life transformed and how he became Marang Gomkey, and how his initiative Build the state of Jharkhand.
The process of building a biographical museum is a huge task in itself, a large number of factors need to be taken under consideration, and it was an overwhelming task for the student to finish within the timeline. The project was hence followed a strict process, starting with research, visiting the site, interviewing people, analysing Museums, and studying architecture. The next step was of concept building, segregation of contents, selecting typo, movement of space, spatial requirements, and detailing out the layout plans, elements, and elevation. The museum consists of various facts collected from different sources, meticulously analysed, and narrated. These elements put a huge emphasis on the spatial movement and storyline, which is binding the whole concept of Leadership throughout the experience.
The Museum eventually evolved into 1 monthly Exhibition setup, Showcasing the Life and time of Jaipal Singh Munda and becoming Marang Gomkey. With the target set for 3rd January, student presented a prototype model of the Exhibition to the Tribal Minster of India Mr. Arjun Munda, it was the pitch for 2023 Marang Gomkey Jayanti.
The final outcome of the project was Retrospective, which aimed to create an Experience design to showcase the struggle, hard work, and backlash Jaipal Singh Munda has to face in becoming Marang Gomkey. Keeping all the factors in consideration and elements that resonate with his life, which express all the emotions he went through in the best possible way.
