The project is an exhibition which situates itself in a historic and political site; a building known as the Training Center in Kwa-Thema, a township on the East Rand of Johannesburg, South Africa. It seeks to use the daily stories of the residents as the content of the show. It uses participatory design principles and co-creation to locate the meaning for the exhibition. Part of a larger process of the creation of a cultural center, the project creates possibilities for strong local identity development, and collaboration opportunities between community members and local artists and creatives.
