The project explores varying cultural consequences of a capitalist economy, driven by mass media, on our manner of visual consumption. It examines a large chunk of information on the internet today that is unsupervised and mediated. The representation of this very information forms the image of a tourist destination and standardizes its signifiers. This infinitely produced visual data is posted on Instagram to be looked at, reproduced and uploaded again. It responds to, how does visual media today impact the popular culture in tourism?
