We have seen a lot of films about mothers. How caring, loving, sacrificing she is. We have seen mothers go beyond their limitations for their loved ones. But seldom have we seen her subjectively. All these things she does for her family, but at the end of the day she is still a human being with desires, aspirations, hopes, and dreams, which often get lost with time and are mostly secondary to everyone else around her.
This is a film about one such mother, Asha. With two kids and a working husband, Asha lives a very simple, middle-class life in Mumbai. Thirty-four years old Asha is just coming to realize how her entire life will be from now on. The mundanity and regularity of her everyday routine are getting tiring. It is not like she is looking for an escape, her only desire is to find a companion, a friend to talk to. Her attempts to keep herself busy are also getting old. The huge diversity of the city also brings in all these people trying to make lives away from their roots, living their lives as strangers to each other. In this preoccupied, bustling life Asha lives a monotonous life within the four walls of her house and her simple wish to have a friend remains unfulfilled until she sees an opportunity!
