This project tries to retrace the footsteps of my grandfather to discover in my own way the places he used to describe through his stories. I juxtapose the Old river with my late grandfather, following the entire length of the river in Assam, from the district of Sadia to Dhubri, along with some parts of Arunachal Pradesh and Meghalaya. I visited all the places during different seasons and tried to look at the changing landscapes, rituals and cultures, to gain a richer experience of both the beauty and the wrath of the river that I had heard stories of.
