This project seeks to study the craft of Farad hand block printing of Bagru and to understand the challenges the craft is facing - in terms of the process and the final product. To subsequently design print artworks that could simplify the process for the artisan, yet have the appeal of the traditional Farad textiles. The final collection is a range of women’s wear apparel for the domestic market designed with the newly developed print artworks using Farad block printing and pigment printing techniques.
