This project seeks to design a typeface in Kannada for young readers. It seeks to promote and preserve diversity, culture and script. Kannada is the language spoken across the state of Karnataka in southern India, with an estimated population of over 35 million. It has its own writing system, which is believed to be over 1500 years old. It also lends its script to other languages that are spoken in and around the state like Tulu, Kodava Takk, Badaga, Sanketi and Banjara.
