This project is a commentary on the relationship between modern development, heritage and cultures of the city. It presents an ode to what once was, and the inevitable decline on culture in the face of urbanization, as the documentary navigates through the empty streets, the beautiful Chinese buildings, and the vibrant life of the Chinese New Year in Kolkata. It draws important questions on the erasure of cultures through global processes.
