My project involved understanding how a channel functions and developing solutions for the current image of Channel [V]. With its past promotions based broadly around Indian graphics and kitsch, Channel [V] has always given a local reference point for the youth.
The scope of my project involved understanding how Channel [V] evolved over the years and to then identify new ways to promote the channel which would add to an overall broadcast experience for a young viewer, thereby introducing a new brand package.
Our brainstorming for the branding initiative led us to the concept of a country that we could all be part of and collectively named ‘Republic of [V]’. This ‘Republic’ identity had to be aligned with any and all broadcast design proposals. I also proposed other ideas such as the use of star symbols. I also designed in-break bumpers, an ‘All New [V]’ promo and some stings for the re-launch.
In addition, the Digital Team at Channel [V] worked at promoting the channel on the web and through other wireless media. For the new channel [V] twitter and facebook, I assisted in developing an exciting look. In addition, I also designed a ‘V-ki-pedia’ Logo and a background for the Vkipedia twitter page to tie in to the look of broadcast design.
My design deliverables included the stationery design of Republic [V] which involved bringing brand identity to letterheads, files, envelopes, CD covers and corrugated files and folders.
At the end of this experience, I feel like I have acquired proficiency in a new language which incorporates effective self-expression. |
