For my project, I worked with ‘Pinnacle Retail’ for the launch of its domestic home furnishing brand ‘House This!’ for the target customer: ‘the upwardly mobile young working professional’
My designs and collections were to help the company define their new visual identity. The visual identity of the company comprised two different styles which the company wanted to portray under the same brand identity in the market.
I linked the ‘conventional and classic’ visual identity to the theme ‘I am but a leaf’, inspired by the life-cycle of a leaf which I have depicted in a variety of colors from lush green to earth brown. The fabrics for this collection were cotton, linen, organdy, organza and canvas. The second visual identity, ‘unconventional and fun’, is inspired by childhood and is reminiscent of fun, carefree attitudes, and a relaxed feel. I initially proposed black and white patterns but then also simulated them in color as an option. The color variations are monochromatic, analogous and complementary.
I also worked on a third collection for Surya Exports which comprised bath mats for American clients. I infused fresh designs with fresh color schemes into their existing collection of low range bath mats inspired by marine life which are mostly bought for beach houses.
This project has been an extremely enriching experience.. The interaction with different people of different professions, finding out things about the human body and the numerous elements can affect it, inspired a strong urge of bringing about a change for better in individuals’ lives through my craft. |
