Sakthivel V

The project was envisioned to develop a range of print designs for apparel whilst keeping in mind nuances of the Dabu technique. It drew inspiration from Gond art of Madhya Pradesh and re-interpreted it in the language of three collections. The first collection involved explorations of the forms and expressions of nature in the way the Gond artists are inspired by their forest tales while the second collection was inspired by the innumerable intricate textures used in Gond art as a signature among the artists. Ikkat experimented with Dabu technique here was used a surprise element. Primarily targeted at working women, the third collection explored Panchantra stories with a vision to develop a connect between mothers with children.
