The aim of this project was to research and design work gone into studying colour and anthropometry preferences targeted particularly towards the Indian workspaces; and henceforth, come up with a seating solution for the same. Looking across Indian habitats one comes across people sitting cross-legged on the floor from eating to chatting or even on the chair itself! In the contemporary world where ergonomically designed chairs remarkably support our bodies, people still tend to adopt this natural way of sitting. This project evolved into developing a product, which could support this basic human posture. “Opal” is an elegant seating solution, with integrated table surface, allowing one to comfortably sit-cross legged and work.
