Recurring issues in Thai typefaces were identified and resolved based on a logic formed through understanding the problems. Since Latin type design is a well-explored subject, designers end up applying the same Latin concepts to Thai type design, which may or may not be suitable in each case. This project was an effort to understand these problem areas and design a typeface keeping them in mind. Another facet of this project is the assimilation of Thai-ness and Thai culture. It was decided to design a type system that allowed the typeface to have two different styles bearing the same structure. The skeleton followed was based on traditional Thai typefaces, even for the Modern Loopless style.
