The brief was to design a culturally relevant ceramic jewellery collection. Inspired by the cultural architecture of Jaipur and segmented into contemporary and ethnic, the project focused on understanding user preferences, trends, functionality, aesthetics, and quality surfaces considering target user and production facilities. Incorporating study and survey of urban women as target users, the project went through various phases from research to conceptualisation before making the final design. Inspirations were drawn from miniature paintings with colours as an integral part and accordingly glazes were prepared to reflect those colours. The end product was an ethnic and contemporary ceramic jewellery collection with supporting elements like leather cords, metal chains and German silver.
