The project aimed to design a collection of tableware that captured the essence and food culture of West Bengal and imbibed the identity of that region. The idea was to concentrate on those factors in which people saw reflections and glimpses of their customs and culture. The first collection comprised mainly of the art and culture of Bengal through the use of watercolours, the auspicious motif style of Alpana and the staple ingredient of all Bengal – fish. The second collection boasted a melange of the Harlequin geometrical print and the texture of the Gingko biloba leaves that enhanced the visual vibrancy of the products.
