The film was made with a goal to help educate the audience (mostly men) of rural India about the importance and benefits of family planning so as to try and help them make informed decisions. The story revolves around two daily wage workers Mangya and Pakya. Brothers from the same mother, they are still very different in their thinking. Pakya, a practical man, questions the old family traditions and openly ridicules their relevance in the present day scenario, whereas Mangya falls prey to societal pressure and emotional blackmailing. The film is character-oriented and is heavily based on dialogues. Therefore the backgrounds were kept simple as compared to the colourful characters in order to draw focus towards them.
