India’s great populace was joined together under a single banner to create history, viz. the freedom movement. But when it comes to religions, it is strikingly divided and rigidly segregated. Religious herd mentality stems from the fact that the Indian children’s young and impressionable minds have been ingrained with doctrines and dogmas, under threat of severe castigation if ever questioned. This project aims to encapsulate the phenomena of religious herd mentality in India. The visual alteration of the faces in the images represent the gradual fading of individuality from the masses whose movement is without reason or thought and provokes the audience to reflect on the same. This was achieved by scratch like patterns to represent the slow eradication of individual school of thoughts.
