Diploma Project Enhancing Patient Experience at Christian Medical College (CMC), Vellore – Wayfinding System
Rupesh Vyas

The Spinal Foundation

The first objective of the project was to develop a low-cost wayfinding system that will make wayfinding easy and less time consuming for patients and facilitate efficient crowd management. The second objective revolved around designing a wayfinding handbook for the medical college in question to ensure a standard and planned approach to wayfinding across all relevant campuses and in order to prevent a relapse to status quo. The exterior and interior signage was developed with pictograms, numbers, text and colours assigned to functional areas. Kohinoor Multiscript was chosen as the typeface, as universal symbols of healthcare developed by Hablamos Juntos and SEGD were modified to suit the Indian context.
