Nirmittee Consultants of Aakar Pot Art

The aim of this project was to create sustainable landscape furniture, through the exploration of terracotta for definite use in furniture, away from its usual forms of pots and tiles. The material tends to be fragile, brittle and vulnerable to vandalism, hence the uniqueness of the final design lay in creating a form and design that could withstand the impact load. The final product was designed as a stool in two modular parts. It can be used as a regular height stool when assembled, as two low seating stools of different heights, or a table and a stool or simply as two tables. The central hollow portion acts as storage space.
