Enhancing Medical Training Through Virtual Pharmacy Environments
New Media DesignInteraction DesignImmersive DesignHealthcareVisual Reality
The project proposes the implementation of interactive virtual pharmacy environments to enhance the Bridge Program in Community Health (BPPCH) in India. Aimed at addressing the shortage of medical practitioners, the BPPCH trains individuals with backgrounds in General Nursing (BSc) and Ayurvedic Medicine (BAMS) to become Community Health Officers (CHOs). However, providing comprehensive practical training has been challenging due to the high costs of setting up medical laboratories. The proposed virtual pharmacy environments offer a cost-effective solution, reducing the need for physical resources while providing scalable, hands-on experience in a risk-free setting. This approach allows students to learn medical terminologies, procedures, and prescription practices, with customizable scenarios that cover a wide range of real-world challenges. Additionally, it enables remote learning, making quality education accessible to students from rural and underserved areas. By offering continuous assessment and real-time feedback, the platform supports personalized learning paths. Virtual simulations can also be updated to reflect the latest medical practices, ensuring standardized and up-to-date training. This project aims to improve the quality and efficiency of the BPPCH program, contributing to the development of well-trained CHOs and setting the stage for future innovations in medical education across India.
