This project aimed to achieve true inclusion for People with Visual Impairments (PVI) by developing multiple accessible and affordable tools rather than relying on a single solution. Research revealed that PVIs require diverse assistive technologies to enhance their ability to perceive and engage with the world independently. The project also explored PVI-centric interfaces that move beyond existing practices, fostering self-reliance and long-term benefits. The outcome was a collection of six distinct concepts, each addressing different short-term goals while collectively working to increase spatial awareness, improve visualisation skills, and expand tactile vocabulary. All prototypes were designed with keeping this in mind - affordability, portability, and large-scale manufacturability. Over 90% of participants found these interventions useful for Students with Visual Impairments (SVI), and professionals with visual impairments reflected that such solutions could have transformed their early education experience, reinforcing the impact of the project in advancing inclusivity.
