The aim of this project was to create a new risk dashboard flow that incorporates the most effective features of two existing products - Security Command Center and Risk Manager - both of which have risk reporting capabilities. The objective was to develop a design that would serve as the basis for a user research study that would help guide future design decisions to ensure that the product is user-friendly and meets users' needs effectively.
The research phase of the project involved several stages, including gaining a thorough understanding of the risk reporting domain, studying competitors and performing user testing of early design concepts. This allowed us to develop a deep understanding of user needs and helped us to identify the optimal audience segments. We proposed several design ideas, ranging from a basic list view to a more dynamic dashboard that enables users to customize the display of information.
Working on this live project at Google provided an excellent opportunity to collaborate and iterate with different teams and departments, which was essential in shaping the proposed solutions. Additionally, working alongside experienced designers provided an excellent opportunity to learn and develop my skills. This project has enabled me to gain valuable insights into the complexities of enterprise design, and the challenges involved in creating a product that meets the needs of a diverse range of users. By combining the best features of two existing products and conducting thorough user research, we were able to develop a new risk dashboard that is both effective and user-friendly, and which has the potential to deliver significant benefits to users.
