I used to carry a lot of wonder as a child about how the world works, wondering how the sun burns or how touch-me-not leaves become shy –the hows and whys and whats and what-nots– the screws and gears behind how it all connects together. On the journey to learn about it all, the wonder I carried got replaced by bitterness and stress and anxieties, the stars and galaxies and flowers and dragonflies, were reduced to diagrams, questions, marks and grades; infinities turned into mere numbers.
Athayath Comics is an investigation on re-finding the lost wonder of sciences and math and education within a colorful world of stories. It is an attempt to see if we can use storytelling and the medium of comics to invoke curiosity to look up towards the vast skies again. Learning through stories, wearing a smile.
