Sysnopsis

This book contains my documentation of my graduation project at the National Institute of Design - Designing a gallery and developing experiences and narrative designs for C.L.U.E.S, Forensics, Cybercrime of the Telangana State Police Museum, Hyderabad. This project was done with Lemon Design Pvt. Ltd., Pune under the mentorship of Wasim Khan and guidance of Tanishka Kachru. The Telangana State Police Museum is part of the upcoming Telangana State Police Headquarter building, Hyderabad. The museum is a 360 - degree viewing gallery on the 14th and 15th floor. The design for the same is undertaken by the team at Lemon Design. The project started with understanding the overall museum, its vision and mission and essence of the Telangana State Police and its various departments. After defining the project brief, in - depth understanding and research of the departments was done. The first phase of research was done from the content provided by the client and also data from various sources. The second phase was defining the intent, content and takeaway for each section. After a context and background was built it was necessary to define the goals, and objective and nature of experience in order to design the space. The third phase was to create by brainstorming ideas and testing them not only as individual exhibits but in context of the larger space and narrative. Space zoning, visitor interaction and journeys were roughly determined. At every step, research and referencing was done to validate and detail out the design. All exhibits were individual elements but also connected and it was necessary to see the experience as a whole. The fourth and final stage was to refine and deliver out the design. Defining the materials, visual language and character of each space to arrive at a final proposal.
