“Railgari” is a 2D animated short film by Angshuman Dhar, created as a part of his graduation
project for the National Institute of Design. It has a runtime of approximately 6 minutes.
Railgari is an animated memoir trying to capture the essence of train travel in India through the
eyes of an unnamed protagonist.
The Film aims to capture the experience of travelling in an Indian Express train and the many
nuances of travel that have evolved over the years. The film takes us through a journey on the
Northern frontier railway, as our protagonist travels to his grandma’s place in Assam narrating his
experiences along the way.
