Sysnopsis

In the bustling and crowded landscape of Indian railway travel, the introduction of Linke Hofmann Busch (LHB) coaches marked a significant improvement, offering a glimpse of relief by enhancing the seating capacity and overall efficiency within the train network more than the ICF coaches. Though the arrival of LHB improved the situation, continuously implementing and discussing new passenger-centric designs for the future of Indian railways is essential to meet the evolving expectations of modern travelers.

This project was an attempt to reimagine the seating within the second seating compartment of an LHB coach. Initially centered on improving the capacity to accommodate passengers, the project later transformed into the redesign of existing seating to enhance the overall passenger experience. This involved focusing on aesthetics and the incorporation of customization features. The project attempts at elevating the travel experience within the second seating compartment, ultimately aiming to explore new possibilities for passenger-centric design in Indian Railway to create a positive and memorable journey for the passengers.
