As a graduation project I was looking forward to working in the market sector and product development. It will be a great opportunity to learn something new and expand my knowledge and perspective of approaching design. Hence My Motifs By Surubi Didwani came up as a great opportunity where I will be able to work on precious stones and jewelry. A market field that has both the experience of customized and retail markets. The brand has been working with silver jewelry and giftings since the time the brand was started. There have been few gold plated collections.
Now as the brand is moving towards making the craftsmanship available for the set of customers looking for precious and semi-precious stones with silver and gold plated. The design needs to be within the scope of the stones available inhouse and the techniques that could be executed by the artisans in house. Keeping in mind the company’s direction in growth the direction was chosen to give a refreshing approach for the customers. The inspiration for a fusion based design came from the Nizams architectures that hold a unique combination of forms, motifs and techniques. Working with the artisans was an exciting and learning experience and working with old techniques for the modern society was a refreshing experience for the artisans.
