This project was undertaken as a part of a Masters Degree Graduation Project at the National Institute of Design, Ahmedabad for Jaipur Rugs Company Pvt. Ltd. from September, 2021 to April, 2022. This document is an extensive documentation of the same and details the learnings and outcomes. The objective of my tenure at Jaipur Rugs was to lead a team of filmmakers to conceptualise, create and produce audio-visual assets as per business requirements across the various verticals as enumerated in the following chapters. My scope of work and delivery far exceeded the case studies as presented in this document; however the selection has been made as a detailed study and analysis of the state of moving-image as a medium in the realm of commercial applications.
The intent of the project is to provide samples of what is possible and what will be possible for practitioners of moving-image in the years soon to come. Though as you peruse through the process, do bear in mind that all study and practice was done within the scope of business needs and resources as specified by the sponsor at any given point in time. Therefore, by no means does my study superseded the larger business goals that were meant to be achieved by individual films. I do hope though that this project will be a point of beginning for a life-long study in the medium of moving-image and provide me with a solid base for the same.
