Co-Designing Humanitarian Futures: Toolkit, Methodology and Exhibit Experience

Supreetha Chakravarthy Krishnan

Mr. Praveen Nahar

This project is an attempt at democratizing Speculative Design through Design Research methods. The intent is to create a self-administering Design toolkit to imagine humanitarian work and global crises of the future. What emerges is a facilitator’s guide to conducting a Speculative Design workshop, that can produce different outcomes based on the way it is used. The Speculative Crisis Kit presents the opportunity for any organization, community or team to study the past and present and extrapolate possible futures to identify a preferable future trajectory and the path towards it.
