Poojitha D

Ms. Swagata S Naidu

This project looked at innovating a series of contemporary jewelry for modern women using ceramic material. The project involved subject research, concept generation, glaze and material exploration, prototyping (form development, surface ornamentation) and final execution of the design. Health hazards and ergonomics of jewelry, color, aesthetics, and surface decorations were some of the primary concerns in design development. Three full collections emerged as a deliverable for the project, however, the primary objective was to examine the material intersection of ceramic and metal, and the tectonic and aesthetic possibilities afforded.
